Who we are
Our Axolotl & Zoo Adventure!
Our axolotl journey started years ago with our very first axolotl, Axol - Yes, a super unique name! Axol was a GFP Leucistic that was just three inches long when we got her from a local show. She lived with us until she passed away at almost 12 years old. We learned a lot in that time. We have had many axolotls through our doors over the years. One was a Wild type, called Tango. His leg was nipped as a baby (before he came to us) and grew back upside down. He looked like he was waving, hence the name, The Waving Axolotl. Tango is featured as the star of our logo!
We took a splash into raising axolotls in 2021 after I started working from home, and let me tell you, it is not a job for the faint of heart. It is utterly rewarding though! We have stayed local, raising only a small number of eggs from each clutch. We have decided to take the plunge into the deep end of the pond this year and begin to expand.
Our home is like a lively little zoo, filled to the brim with personality. We've got six furry friends barking up joy, two turtles paddling around in their tanks, vibrant bettas flitting about, and a bearded dragon who struts like she's the queen of them all! Each one adds a splash of whimsy and wonder, turning our everyday lives into a delightful adventure.
With every axolotl we raise, every turtle we care for, and every paw print that graces our floors, we embrace the chaotic beauty of our ever-growing family. It’s not just a hobby; it’s a lifestyle full of laughter, love, and a bit of chaos, and we wouldn't trade it for the world. Gotta love having a zoo!
